LGBTQI+ Affirming School Toolkits & Resources

  • GLAD, GLSEN, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and PFLAG National have collaborated to create SafeSchoolsForAll.org for students, parents, and supporters to take action against bullying, harassment and discrimination. The website is rooted in guidance from the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education.

  • Kaleidoscope Youth Center's Know the Facts Resource Page provides information on LGBTQIA+ affirming practices, Title IX, supporting QTPOC youth, and what students, educators, parents, and administrators can do to create inclusive school environments for LGBTQ+ youth.

  • Teach Pride, Reach Wide Toolkit

    This educator’s toolkit is directly informed by the needs of LGBTQ+ students in Marin County. It contains allyship/advocacy tips, information about pronoun use, assessing and addressing the needs of gender-diverse youth, training to help students understand gender-diversity, community resources and LGBTQ+ curriculum guides.

  • GSA Network’s Virtual GSAs In Action: Digital Organizing Toolkit & Training Series

    GSA Network is extremely proud to launch Virtual GSAs In Action: Digital Organizing Toolkit–-a new resource inspired by, and designed for, trans and queer youth activists, GSA club advisors and educators, and grassroots organizations across the country.

    Trans and queer young people of color want to build community in this moment. They are searching for places that affirm their identities and experiences, uplift their spirit, and promote self and community care. The Virtual GSAs In Action Toolkit was created to support them to start a Community GSA, take their existing school-based GSA clubs online, create new clubs, and above all, build virtual spaces that can restore our community.

  • After a Suicide: A Toolkit for Schools 2nd Edition: the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) produced After a Suicide: A Toolkit for Schools to assist schools in the aftermath of a suicide in the school community. This second edition includes updated information and new material.

  • O.school is a non-judgmental resource for sexuality and dating for folks 18+. They help people build sexual confidence through medically-accurate videos, articles and live streams. They work with a community of gynecologists, dating coaches, sex educators and therapists who cover a wide range of topics including health, consent, gender, sexuality, dating, sex after trauma, sex and disability, and more.
