We Are Family’s Mental Health Assistance Program: a program that provides free mental health services for LGBTQI+ youth and connects them with LGBTQI+ affirming therapists.
Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective: BEAM is a training, movement building and grant making organization dedicated to the healing, wellness and liberation of Black and marginalized communities.
Guide for LGBTQ Youth: This guide from HRC and the Child Mind Institute offers specific tips for LGBTQ youth about the importance of mental health, how to help a friend struggling with mental health issues, and how to find an LGBTQ-affirmative therapist.
NAMI Charleston Area: NAMI is is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. They provide resources, education, and support groups surrounding various mental health conditions.
Inclusive Therapists: Inclusive Therapists offers a safer, simpler way to find a culturally responsive, social justice-oriented therapist. They center the needs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We amplify the voices and expressions of Neurodivergent and Disabled communities.
Surviving Suicide Loss: Resource and Healing Guide. This comprehensive guide from American Foundation for Suicide Prevention serves as an empathetic and supportive resource for those who have experienced suicide loss. The guide can also serve as an important resource for providers to inform their work with those impacted by suicide loss.
Mental Health America's Latinx/Hispanic Communities and Mental Health Resource Page details the impact of mental health issues on Latinx and Hispanic populations in the U.S. and provides resources, Spanish language materials, and tools for helping find a therapist.
The Upswing Fund aims to support a more integrated and higher quality adolescent mental health system for adolescents who are of color and/or LGBTQ+ by providing direct resources to organizations serving these populations. They offer many national resources and toolkits.
The Collective is a place for Black youth to hang out and learn about mental health from trusted sources. We learn from each other about how mental health impacts us and what we do about it.
